Lufthansa CityLine has held EMAS and ISO 14001 certificates since 1999, for the Cologne, Munich and Hamburg sites.
The audited EMS comprises all departments of the company, including the technical, administration and air transport departments. Next to the permanent enlargement of the fleet with new, modern and hereby environmentally friendly planes, the reduction of noises and emissions are priority goals.
An especially successful environmental goal was the continuous optimization of board loading, which saves flight weight and fuel, which represents about half a million Euro a year.
