Danish Environmental Protection Agency
Activity: Public administration
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, which is also the EMAS Competent Body in Denmark, has become the first Danish national government body to be registered under EMAS.
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency produces knowledge and casework (ministerial support, decision-making, legislation and guidelines, reports and articles, strategies, development activities, as well as environmental assistance). Its environmental improvements are measured in terms of their direct environmental impact, i.e. the daily operations, as well as indirect environmental impact, i.e. the results of our administration and the decisions that are made.
The purpose of becoming EMAS-registered was to ensure environmental improvement, both via an improvement in the quality of our administration and via the reduction in our direct impacts on the environment, rising from our operations and procurement.
