Stora Enso is an integrated paper, packaging and forest products company producing publication and fine papers, packaging boards and wood products, areas in which the Group is a global market leader.
Customers are large and small publishers, printing houses and merchants, as well as the packaging, joinery and construction industries worldwide. The main markets are Europe, North America and Asia. The Group has production facilities in Europe, North America and Asia.
Stora Enso has a worldwide approach of Environmental management systems and considers EMAS and ISO 14001 to be the best tools to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance everywhere the company operates. By June 2003, 88 Stora Enso operations have been EMAS-registered and/or ISO 14001–certified.
These units represent 100% of the Group's pulp, paper and board production capacity (including Stora Enso North America).
All sawmills within Stora Enso Timber in Finland and Sweden have certified and registered environmental management systems.
