Within the Kirkless council each department is required to review the potential for environmental incidents, accidents and emergencies.

Where potential exists, a Pollution Incident Response Plan must be developed. Each plan contains:

  1. Emergency contact numbers
  2. Site plan
  3. Potential hazard inventory
  4. Hazardous products inventory
  5. Emergency procedures
  6. Procedure training and communication programme
  7. Procedure testing programme
  8. Incident report form
